Well, I did it – I went out and played golf again today. My third day in a row, but I did compromise and only play 18 holes. And, I did ride, as well.
All in all, it has been a good day. First of all, I turned off my phone last night so that the alarm would not wake me up at 4:45AM this morning. I actually slept in until 6:30AM – wow. I am a lazy bum.
About 9:30, I began to think about playing, so I called the course – the tee sheet was wide open. For whatever reason, no one wanted to play today. So, I decided to head out to the course.
Although the day started out cloudy and there were periods of rain early on, by the back nine the sun was out – but, boy was it muggy. I had a devil of a time keeping the sweat on my face from running into my eyes.
Other things to do today – this morning, before I left, I watch qualifying for the British F1 Grand Prix. Tonight, we have the Fireball, no Pepsi, no Coke Zero 400 NASCAR race under the lights at Daytona. Right now, i am switching back and forth between the Red Sox versus Yankees baseball game from the Cathedral of Baseball and the AT&T PGA Tour event from Congressional Country Club, where the PGA (and the absent host, Tiger Woods) is honoring the men and women of our armed services.
BTW – have you seen the number of ads that are running these days for the U.S Border Patrol? Are they now our sixth armed service?
Tomorrow – well, golf is a possibility, but I am going to give long odds on that happening. I plan on sleeping in again and then watching the British Grand Prix, which, unfortunately is on tape delay at 1PM on Fox. The Red Sox – Yankees game is the ESPN game Sunday night and, of course, the final round of the AT&T at Congressional will be on. If I am going to golf, it would have to be in the morning.
So, there you have it – my plans for the rest of the weekend. I hope yours is as enjoyable as mine has been thus far.
